Ornithology: Greylake & Avalon Marshes

Leaders: Mike Johnson (07530981106) & Giles Morris (07712398903)

Meet at 12:00 in the car park of the RSPB reserve at Greylake (ST399346). The reserve is on the A361 (Glastonbury to Taunton road). We will visit the hides and walk the visitor trail looking for resident and migrant ducks, waders and passerines. The flooded levels at this time of year should hold a considerable number of birds.

Later, we will drive to the new RSPB car park at Ham Wall (ST449396). This is on the same side of the road as the nearby Railway Inn. We will endeavour to view the Starling roost wherever it is located. Conditions may be muddy although the terrain is flat. Bring appropriate clothing for standing in potentially chilly conditions when viewing the roost and refreshments for the day. The meeting will end at about 16:45.
