Tracking Birds

In this wide ranging talk, the speaker who is a very experienced bird ringer and tracker, will be concentrating on the developments in the ways in which birds are tracked, starting with the use of individually numbered metal rings and the introduction of coloured rings before moving on to isotopic and genetic analysis, GPS tracking and various trapping methods, as well as the larger ‘citizen science’ projects such as Birdtrack.   It is a must-hear for anyone seriously interested in avian science.
