The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland’s annual New Year Plant Hunt is a fun way to start (or end!) the year. How many species can we find in flower? And are they late hangers-on or early starters? Coastal sites are often the best places to look, as they stay largely free of frost. We’ll walk around the lake grounds, saltmarsh edge, Battery Point and the nearby woodland edges, as well as some residential streets.
