The Clive Lovatt Memorial Lecture
(This was to be held last October as the first annual botanical talk in memory of Clive Lovatt, the late President of the BNS Botany Section, but had to be postponed as the speaker was unwell.)

Our gardens are full of them and we would starve without the fruits they yield, yet few gardeners give a second thought as to when and how flowers first evolved to produce such diversity. This lecture will introduce the many and varied methods by which flowers attract pollinators as well as new research which shows that pollinators are not just attracted by colour and nectar.
