Discovering Invertebrates

The Invertebrates section aims to share knowledge and discover Bristol’s buglife through an ongoing program of field meetings, indoor seminars, workshops and talks. You don’t need to be an expert to join in at one of our events – we welcome all levels of experience and are happy to help interpret the wonderful world of insects to anyone with an interest.

Biodiversity

We submit records of all species that we find to the Bristol Regional Environmental Records Centre to help build up a picture of how Bristol’s Biodiversity is changing over time – which it certainly is. Even if you are not confident with Coleoptera (the Latin word for beetles), it might be you that catches the first species record for the county as new insects are turning up each year.
