A Zoom talk by Keith Betton who has studied Stone-curlews for the last 15 years. He will share his insights on how they live and what it takes to increase their population. Working with farmers and gamekeepers, conservationists have managed to create nesting habitat for them, and this has allowed a greater number to settle into a smaller area of land with great success. Keith is Chair of the Hampshire Ornithological Society, which provides around 10 volunteers to the RSPB to keep these scarce birds safe on working farms.
