Daphne Havercroft is the BTO’s Garden BirdWatch Ambassador for the Avon region. She has extensive experience of contributing to a number of different BTO surveys and also to monitoring high tide roosts along the Severn Estuary
She will be telling us about the Garden BirdWatch Survey, which is one of the simplest ways of contributing to our understanding of the changes in populations of the bird species that use our gardens. She will explain the history and purpose of the suvey and how it differs from the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.
She will also explain the survey’s contribution to ornithological research and local records.
