As in 2024, a joint meeting will be held for local members of both the British Entomological & Natural History Society and the Bristol & District Moth Group.

Gordano National Nature Reserve (Walton Moor), Walton-in-Gordano, near Clevedon, North Somerset. Entrance to the reserve is on Moor Lane at ST4321 7271 but parking is limited so please inform Ray Barnett [email protected] in advance if you are intending to be there. The daytime meeting will be from 1.30pm and the light trapping from 8.30pm.

The Gordano NNR is a rare example of fen with peat dissected by many rhynes, an outlier from the better-known Somerset Levels and Moors further south. Known for a rich assemblage of both plants and invertebrates, attendees should expect a diverse fauna but do come equipped with boots. The site was written up in the ‘Reserve Focus’ series published in British Wildlife magazine (Vol 35, pt 7 June 2024) by David Hawkins, which mentions some of the insect species likely to be encountered.
