Leader: Mike Johnson (07530 981106)
Meet at 09:30 at the fishing lodge which is at the south end of the lake near the dam. ST507595
This will be a gentle three to four mile walk on an even, flat surface. We will look and listen for migrants, waterfowl and resident passerines and look at the wonderful fauna and flora of the hay meadows along the way. The meeting will finish around 1pm.
It is essential to have a Bristol Water birdwatching permit for the day as these are frequently checked by the Bristol Water wardens. These can be purchased from the office at Woodford Lodge, Chew Valley Lake or online: bristolwater.clubmate.co.uk/memberarea/bookings The cost is £7 and the permit will allow you to access the hides at Chew Valley Lake in the afternoon should you so wish.
